According to the Bible, an Elder protects, oversees, leads, and cares for the flock over which they have been entrusted.  Our elders protect the flock by guarding teaching and doctrinal choices making certain we are in agreement with and obedient to God's word. They protect the flock from divisive influences that would seek to damage unity and hinder the mission. They work with the lead minister to discern God's vision and direction and oversee "big picture" decisions accordingly. They ensure that we live out our values in order to accomplish the mission. Our elders lead not only through decision making but in practice, leading in areas of ministry throughout the church. Elders guarantee pastoral care for the flock.
