What To Expect
What’s the experience like at McCook Christian Church?
Our Sunday Gatherings are authentic, fun and relaxed, but also intentional. In total, each gathering lasts about 65 minutes. Through relevant biblical messages and powerful music, we present the truths of the Bible in a way that is easy to understand and apply to your life, even if you've never been part of a church before. There is no dress code, so dress comfortably. Most people will probably be in jeans.
Communion
We believe that Jesus instructed His followers to remember Him as often as they gather by sharing a special meal called communion. Obviously we don't share a meal every week but we do remember Jesus by sharing communion. We do this by setting aside a few moments to reflect on Jesus' love for us and share the bread and the cup together in remembrance of His sacrifice for us.
Do you have programs for kids?
Absolutely! We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week—and at McCook Christian, we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our children's environments the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself an extra few minutes to get signed in for our children's environments. We offer a program called Grow for grades PreK-5 and Nursery for children from birth to 3 years old.
What if I'm not used to church?
Our Sunday gatherings are a great place for people who are curious about God but have never felt comfortable in a church setting. McCook Christian is a safe place where you can learn about God wherever you are on your spiritual journey. We are committed to helping everyone take their next step to follow Jesus even if it's just a first step of finding out about Jesus and His Church for the first time.
