GICTU (4th-5th Grade)
Join us at 5:30 PM on the first Wednesday of each month for a family meal!!
GICTU is our mid-week program for upper elementary students (4th & 5th Grade). GICTU stands for God Is Central To Us. GICTU runs from 6:00 -7:00 pm, and boys and girls meet separately.
Boys focus on becoming young men of God. Their hour is filled with activity including games, devotions, craftsmanship, and skills development in specific sports. Every activity is pointed toward developing their relationship with Jesus and developing Godly character. For example the archery unit focuses on Jesus being their “bull’s eye.” Basketball helps to build respect, team skills, and sportsmanship. The spring project teaches patience and craftsmanship. In all of this GICTU seeks to help these budding young men place Jesus firmly in the center of their lives and to build a foundation of Godly character that will continue to grow as they grow into the young men God designed them to be.
The young ladies focus on becoming Godly women rooted in God's word. They have been visited by Christian women of the church and community who share their testimony and talk about what it means to be a Christian woman displaying Godly character in every aspect of life. Currently the girls are studying how to grow the fruit of the spirit in their lives as they become Godly young women.
